I finally (!) finished The Ruins. I wish I had bothered to read a review of the book first, but the movie trailer looked interesting. Now let me save you from the same mistake!! To say this book sucks is to describe a tornado as a movement of air. Please, please don't waste your time or money.

On a happier note, I am now on the second book in Nora Robert's newest trilogy (The Sign of Seven trilogy) and am LOVING it. Not a surprise as I generally love Nora's books. In all honesty, and as with most romantic novelists, it is basically the same story each time. But she writes them so well!

Let me introduce you to one of my best friends. Yuki is a nine year old Alaskan Malamute. He was born in CO and belongs to The Man (really need a pseudonym for him). He's lived with me for more then two years, more then you can say for his owner! lol

Peoples first reaction to him is that he's SOOOO big. Honestly, I realize he's large but he's not a giant. He's around 115 pounds and has a very typical thick, Spitz type coat. Not surprising I guess as AM's are a Spitz type dog.

Life is very clear cut for him, he's in charge. He makes me laugh! He's really good with me, but I have 20 years of training experience, so he couldn't quite pull the wool over my eyes like he does most. Not to say it's always been smooth sailing between us. When I first met him he was the very independent dog of a very independent man. But now he's better for me then he is for The Man. I love him much.

OH new toy!!!
It's been two weeks with nothing new here. I would like to think it's because I have such a busy and full life I've no time to keep a blog updated. But more reasonably, I just really don't know what to say. I do have a very full life, there's work, school (a full load, 12 credits already signed up for in the fall and I need to add a math class), the dogs, the bird, the horse and of course attempting to keep the house reasonably clean. Then theres The Man. Theres a whole blog in and of itself there. What do I say about the man? God only knows. It's an odd relationship and I'll have to consider what I would want to say to the world about him. I don't know that I want to say much at all about him. At the very least I know I would rather not use his name, so I would have to come up with a nickname of some such for him.

In other news, I still have not finish The Ruins. I am an avid reader, read the new Harry Potter book in one and a half days. So at this point I would not seriously recommend The Ruins, but I am determined to finish it.

Let me tell you a little bit about me. I'm 35 years old, divorced and working for Wal-Mart logistics. It's a good job, regular hours and a very nice paycheck, but that not withstanding, I hate doing it! It does however pay the bills and with weekend hours I have four days off a week that allow me to attend Blue Ridge Community Collage full time. With an eye to getting a masters in history and education so I can teach, in the short term I am working toward a degree in American Sign Language. By this time next year I should be able to start taking the translators test. It will take somewhere around four more years to get my teaching degree, I would rather work as a translator then for Wal-Mart.
I wonder if anyone will ever read this? Maybe my ego is in for quite the /slap?
Just a note, I'm currently (trying) reading The Ruins. A good book should not be so much work to read! But having started it /shrug, going to have to soldier on.
Wow.
I've started a blog. Joined thousands (millions?) of other Americans in sharing my point of view with the world.
And I have absolutely no idea what to say.....

I'll have to work on that.
